Medical Education Pathway
The Medical Education Pathway helps residents build foundational skills in teaching, curriculum design, learner assessment, program evaluation and educational scholarship. Participants design and implement a scholarly project, receive mentorship and explore careers in academic medicine.
Residents engage in a two-week elective focused on curriculum development and educational research, lead small group teaching and participate in educational committees and quarterly meetings. Mentorship is provided by faculty with advanced training in medical education. Those who complete all requirements receive a Certificate in Medical Education.
Participants in this pathway will learn how to:
- Design and evaluate curricula and teaching sessions
- Assess learner performance and program outcomes
- Apply best practices in clinical teaching
- Conduct educational scholarship
- Build an Educator Portfolio and exploring academic career paths
Sample Projects
