JLW Leadership Pathway
The JLW Leadership Pathway is a brand-new program created to address potential knowledge and skill gaps for residents interested in pursuing leadership roles within academic pediatrics. It aims to provide residents with the tools needed to be effective and impactful leaders. It emphasizes opportunities to develop comprehensive understanding of pediatric workforce goals to assure effective and comprehensive care for patients from all socioeconomic and community backgrounds and to create institutional infrastructure to provide safe, effective and culturally competent delivery of pediatric care.
The pathway is named after Children's National alum Joseph L. Wright, MD, MPH, FAAP, who completed both pediatric residency and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Children's National. Dr. Wright serves currently as the Chief Health Equity Officer for the American Academy of Pediatrics.
