School Based Health Centers

School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) make it easier for your child to get the care they need—right at school. These on-campus health clinics are located in certain Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) and are run by licensed medical professionals who can provide checkups, treat common illnesses and offer support when your child isn’t feeling well.
With care available during the school day (and even through telehealth when needed), SBHCs help families avoid missed work, reduce time away from class and ensure students stay healthy, supported and ready to learn. SBHCs make it easier for students to receive timely care by partnering with families and primary care providers.

Hours of Operation
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (open during lunch periods). Students can also be seen via telehealth. SBHCs follow the PGCPS closure and holiday schedule, and an on-call physician is available when the SBHCs are closed.

Eligibility
Any student currently enrolled at a participating Prince George's County school with a consent form on file can receive services. SBHC staff will assist students with transitioning to another healthcare provider after they graduate.
