From providing medication education and teaching to making sure your child’s refills are on time and any side effects are addressed, we have you covered.
If your doctor has prescribed your child a medication called a “specialty” medication, we are here to guide you through this process. Often, specialty medications require more pharmacy support and attention due to potential side effects, insurance requirements and extra help needed to make sure they are used effectively.

When to Call Us
You should call the specialty pharmacy if:
Your child’s address, telephone number and/or insurance information has changed- You have any questions on the status of your prescription
- You have concerns about how your child should take their medicine medication
- You need to reschedule or check the status of your delivery
- Your child needs to start or stop a specialty medication, or if your child’s dose changes
- You want to know how to throw away your child’s medication once done with it
- You need to report a suspected medication issue, or if you believe an error has happened
- You notice your child’s medication has been recalled by the Food and Drug Administration
- You need to submit a complaint
About Children's National Pharmacy
The Division of Pharmacy includes more than 150 pediatric professionals for the preparation and distribution of therapeutic prescription services for patients at Children’s National Hospital, the Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Northern Virginia, and Children's National Montgomery County.
