Children’s National offers walk-in pediatric lab services at multiple locations — no appointment needed. To refer a patient, simply provide the family with a hard copy of the lab order that includes all appropriate diagnosis codes to help avoid processing delays.

Why Refer to Children’s National Lab Services?

  • Pediatric-trained staff: All lab services are staffed by professionals with specialized training in working with children, including those with special needs.
  • Walk-in access: No appointment is necessary — families can visit at their convenience during posted hours.
  • Family-friendly care: Our labs are designed to reduce fear and stress, making the experience more comfortable for kids.
  • Streamlined workflow for providers: We handle lab work efficiently and compassionately, easing administrative demands on your practice.
  • Integrated results: Lab results are delivered through the Children’s National Provider Portal and faxed to the number provided on the lab order.

Important Reminders

  • Please include all necessary diagnosis codes on lab orders to avoid delays.
  • Even when processed by an external reference lab, results are uploaded to our portal — not to your reference lab account(s).
  • For hours and locations, visit our Blood Draw Services page
  • Unless it is an emergency, please do not direct families to the Emergency Department for routine blood draws.
