Our Patients

Washington, D.C., is one of the most enriching and diverse cities in the country, with many communities contributing to its vibrant cultural landscape and influencing local cuisines, festivals, community initiatives and the everyday experience in the hospital. The people of D.C. represent beautifully varied identities across many cultures and communities.

At Children’s National Hospital, we are proud that our residents and faculty come from many different backgrounds, communities and cultures. We seek trainees with different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences, which contributes to a rich and positive learning environment. From before Match Day through graduation, we are intentional about supporting our residents' experiences and facilitating an environment where we can each bring our identities and experiences to serving this community and growing as a physician every day.

Advancing Academic Pediatrics (AdAP)

The AdAP Program is a funded opportunity for fourth-year medical students to rotate at Children’s National Hospital and learn more about our patient population. Additionally, the AdAP Program provides supplemental mentorship, networking opportunities, and a stipend to offset the costs of travel and housing.
