Our Division of Pediatric Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction at Children’s National Hospital has developed the Pediatric Colorectal Surgery Fellowship, which is 1-2 years in duration.

Eligibility
Eligible candidates should have completed at least two years of surgical training at an ACGME-approved (or equivalent) general surgical residency.
International applicants must have completed all 3 levels of USMLE and have the ability to secure a District of Columbia training license. They must have completed at least two years of general surgery or urology, or four years of gynecological training at an ACGME-approved (or equivalent) residency. Exceptions to this requirement must be approved by the Designated Institutional Official, the Program Director, and the Senior Vice President of Human Resources in advance of the letter of offer.
International applicants should:
- Be fully licensed physicians in good standing in their home country.
- Have current clinical responsibilities in their home institution in the field that would be enhanced by the additional Children’s National Hospital training.
- Have plans to return to their home country to develop or enhance a colorectal program there
- Demonstrate a need in their home country for the clinical services for which this program will train.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and academic achievements to be successful.
- Possess the support of their home institution and demonstrate that they will be able to implement a program upon return.
- Have the potential for ongoing collaboration and engagement of fellow/institution with Children’s National Hospital
