Our Vendor Program
Children's National aims to conduct business with vendor partners who are committed to our standards of conduct, mission and commitment to our patients. To forge a mutually beneficial relationship, we require all vendors to be compliant with our vendor management program, which is aimed at safeguarding the privacy of our patients and maintaining the safety and security of our facilities.
Compliance Information
Children’s National Hospital believes that acting ethically and responsibly is not only the right thing to do for our patients, but also the right thing to do for our business. We expect integrity – of our board members, leadership, providers, employees and our vendors – in all we do. We have a Code of Conduct for our employees and board members that describe the policies, procedures and principles that we all must follow.
Employees, volunteers, contractors and vendors have the opportunity to report compliance concerns to the Compliance Department via email, by phone at 202-471-4860, or via our Compliance Hotline, TEL-A-BEAR at 844-835-2232.
Supply Chain Team
The Children’s National Supply Chain Department is responsible for procurement, contracting and distribution of all supplies, equipment and services. It is the goal of Supply Chain to provide value-added, safe, competitively-priced products and services to help meet the clinical needs of the patients that we serve. Children’s National requires that purchase of all supplies, equipment and services is achieved through competitive bidding and follows our contract management processes. We strive for a mutually beneficial partnership with our vendors and expect all vendors to be compliant with our vendor guidelines, protocols and code of conduct.

All contractor employees, sub-tier contractor employees, vendors, etc., are required to attend Contractor Safety Training and take the Annual Contractor Safety Quiz in order to perform work at Children’s National.

Vendor Code of Conduct
Our Vendor Code of Conduct sets forth the principles and standards by which all vendors are expected to conduct themselves when providing equipment, goods and services to Children’s National. The Vendor Code of Conduct incorporates the principles of lawful and ethical conduct that Children's National expects of its vendors and any of their subcontractors (collectively, “vendors”). Children's National Hospital expects its vendors to have their own code of conduct that addresses business conduct and practices and to maintain a hotline or other mechanism for vendor employees to report any allegations of misconduct on the part of the vendor or Children’s National Hospital.
